|TOYO TIRES Displayed a wildly styled C6 ZR1 by Jon Sibal Design at the 2016 SEMA event.|
Text and Photos By: Wayne EllwoodEach year, TOYO Tires mounts an outdoor display using a broad range of customized cars, which have chosen TOYO tires for their application. This year there was one Corvette in the mix. This car was wildly styled as a street racer, by Jon Sibal Design. I think the important feature that was just beginning to sink-in to my highly agitated brain was the absolutely totally ridiculous amounts of money that are spent on these cars…and the flares. This new style of flares was initially created by Liberty Walk for mostly Japanese cars but has since been copied by many other manufacturers such as Rocket Bunny Of course, once you add flares you have to fill the wheel well. In this case, the DPE Wheels and TOYO tires helped meet the challenge.
But let me say a bit more about this car. It’s a C6 ZR1 with a full Karbonwerks carbon fiber body and C7 headlights. It has a custom Alcantara interior with Recaro seats; The supercharged engine is supported by revised pulleys, intake, sport cats, air filter and VAREX exhaust. The ARIREX suspension has ACU-AIR management and VIAIR compressors. The wheels are forged DPRE CSR10.V2 versions with a step lip. Sizes are 20×11 and 20x 13. Tires are the Toyo Proxes T1R…305/30ZR/20 (front) and 345/30SR/20 (rear).
