Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum Today we are looking back at an article and photos by Charley Robertson at the Corvette Racing Party held at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in 2015.  The coverage appeared in the January 2016 issue of Vette Vues Magazine.  Petit Le Mans was the last race of the 2015 IMSA-Tudor season.  However, thanks to the Simeone Automotive Museum, Wes Wong, who is now on the board of directors for the National Corvette Museum, and Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing Program Manager, there was one more racing event to attend, or should I say party!  Dr. Simeone and the 1963 Grand Sport #002. Jan Magnussen’s last driving season for Corvette Racing Jan Magnussen’s last driving season for Corvette Racing in 2019 with 156 races, 35 wins, four titles. Vette Vues Magazine learned that the 2019 season would be Jan Magnussen’s last driving season for Corvette Racing.  He joined the team in 2004.  During his 16 years, he has achieved 35 victories. Petit Le Mans was his final race for Corvette Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Jan Magnussen in No. 3 Corvette C7.R finished fourth at the GTLM Petit Le Mans race. IMSA at VIR Aug 23-25, 2019 Corvettes finish 3rd & 4th at VIR as Porsches win on the way to the 2019 GTLM title Unable to match the pace of the Porsches, the 2 Corvettes were part of a thrilling battle for 3rd on the podium (and 4th) ahead of Ford and BMW.  Qualifying a remarkable 2nd, # 3 Jan Magnussen quickly lost the spot to the # 912 Porsche RSR of Earl Bamber with an aggressive outside pass in turn 1. Both Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs led the GT Le Mans (GTLM) category and were in contention for the program’s 100thh victory in IMSA competition.
