The Carlisle Blue 2012 Corvette Grand Sport Convertible is a rare and special color created as a celebration of 30 years of “Corvettes at Carlisle” in 2012. Corvettes at Carlisle is one of the largest annual Corvette events in North America.
When the C6 Corvette made its debut in 2005, it quickly established itself as a worthy successor to the groundbreaking C5 generation. The new generation was packed with advanced features and specialized versions, like the ZR1, Z06, and Grand Sport. In 2010, the Grand Sport was unveiled at the 12th Annual C5/C6 Corvette Birthday Bash, taking performance to the next level. It boasted stiffer springs, revised shocks, beefed-up anti-sway bars, wider tires, and specific aluminum wheels, plus Z06 brakes.
For the C6 model, the manual transmission was outfitted with altered gear ratios and launch control, while the automatic variants had special rear-end gearing. For coupes with the manual gearbox, LS3 6.2L V-8 engines were assembled by hand. In 2012, fewer than 12,000 Corvettes were produced, and in 2013, production stopped with the launch of the C7 model in 2014.
So, just how many Carlisle Blue 2012 Corvettes were made?
There were 535 2012 Carlisle Blue Corvettes sold that model year. Of them, 109 were coupes, 42 were convertibles, 243 were Grand Sport Coupes, 118 were Grand Sport Convertibles, 12 were ZO6, and 11 were ZR1s.
So what are the specifications of the Carlisle Blue 2012 Corvette Grand Sport?
A 2012 Carlisle Blue Corvette Grand Sport offers unparalleled performance for an exceptional driving experience. Boasting an LS3 6.2L with a dry sump oil system hand-built at GM’s Performance Build Center, six-speed manual transmission, and Magnetic Selective Ride Control, the Grand Sport is equipped with impressive features. Additionally, a set of Goodyear® F1 Supercar Gen 2 tires, Cyber Gray headlamps, a dual-mode exhaust system, and a new Carlisle Blue Metallic exterior elevate this model.
The interior is designed with the 4LT trim level and an Ebony/Titanium leather color interior with blue stitching, Bose® Premium Audio with nine speakers, a USB port, and an audio jack with iPod® integration. Further enhancements to the model are found in the Genuine Corvette Accessory Torque 2 silver-painted wheels in 18×10-inch (front) and 19×12-inch (rear), Carbon Fiber Ground Effects – front splitter and rockers, full-width rear spoiler, GRAND SPORT hood blanket, Pearl White full-length stripe kit, GRAND SPORT Ebony floor mats, GRAND SPORT console lid, and Racing Pedal Package.
FIBERGLASS FACT: Only 11,647 2012 Corvettes were produced in 2012, and of them, only 2,889 were convertibles ( 2,268 of the convertibles were Grand Sports).
