The 1972 Corvettes were the last year for chrome bumpers front and rear, the vacuum-actuated pop-up windshield wiper door, and the removable rear window for the coupes. The alarm system was now a standard item.

Beginning in 1972, horsepower will be measured as “net,” rather than the less realistic “gross” ratings of the past.

Since air conditioning was only available with the LT1 engine this year, this combination is rare today.
