The total number of C4 Corvettes was 358,180 units. Among the improved features of this model was the return of the convertible option, as well as the inclusion of higher-performance engines, like the 375 hp LT5 found in the ZR-1. On March 1990, the ZR-1 established a new benchmark for the highest land speed achieved over a 24-hour and 5,000-mile duration by achieving a speed of 175 mph.
