The Chevy Corvette (C8) is the eight generation of the Chevrolet Corvette sports.  The C8 was announced in April 2019 and the coupe was debuted to the public on July 18, 2019, in Tustin, California. It is the current generation Corvette.

The convertible made its debut in October 2019 at a media event held at Kennedy Space Center to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. That same month, a race version of the new car, the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, was unveiled.

The 2019 General Motors strike delayed the start of production until February 3, 2020.
