May 8, 2020, John Heinricy drove a Hennessey-prepared C8 Corvette to a top speed of 205.1 mph on the 8.0-mile high-speed oval at the Continental Tire Uvalde Proving Grounds, which is located approximately 80 miles west of San Antonio, Texas. The team at Hennessey Performance Engineering (HPE) has a long history of testing its cars to over 200 mph. You might remember when the C7 2013 Corvette was introduced. John Hennessey ran their modified Vette with 700 hp to a top speed of 200.6 mph. The Hennessey team began working on the new mid-engine C8 Corvette as soon as they took delivery in March (2020). This was the fourth year that the Bloomington Gold organization had held Bloomington Gold judging along with a “Gold Collection” of Corvettes and other activities at the Rick Hendrick Complex. The Bloomington event was held in conjunction with Queen City’s 8th Annual Car Show sponsored by Hendrick City Chevrolet and also held at the Rick Hendrick Complex.

Check out some of the vanity license plates from the Vettes at Sedalia, all Corvette Cruise-In. On June 15th, 2019, the Virginia Corvette Club hosted the Vettes at Sedalia, an all Corvette Cruise-In. Robert Anderson got us some photos to enjoy. The Virginia Corvette Club membership comes primarily from Lynchburg, Virginia, and the surrounding counties and communities.  It was established in October of 1983 during a ride on the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway when twenty-two Corvettes joined for a cruise. The VCC’s main goal is camaraderie and having fun, excitement, and adventure with their Corvettes, but their goals go beyond that.
