Today on Vette Vues blog we are looking at the life of designer Larry Shinoda as well as a collection of video interviews with him. Lawrence Kiyoshi (Larry) Shinoda (March 25, 1930 – November 13, 1997) was a legendary American automotive designer who was best known for his work on the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang. Larry Shinoda was a designer who worked for General Motors Styling from 1956 to 1968. Perhaps his most was his working on the final design for the 1963 split-window Sting Ray. He Shinoda was born on March 25, 1930, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Southern California and his artistic talents showed up while he was still in grade school. At the time of Vette Vues post, there are 117 Corvettes registered for auction at the new Florida auction in Orlando. Mecum Auction returns to Central Florida for their new Summer Special Collector Car Auction held at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center.  They are expecting a 1,000-car auction.  The dates are July 28-31, 2021. This past January, you might remember that the Mecum’s Kissimmee 2021 auction reached $141 million in sales. It will be interesting to see how this new event will do. My expectation is Very Well! We learn from Mecum that the event was originally planned to span just three days, but due to an overwhelming response, it was expanded to include Wednesday, July 28 as well. Chevrolet just released the first official video of the C8 2023 Corvette Z06. Check out the audio clip of the flat-plane-crank 5.5-liter V-8. The C8 Corvette ZO6 will debut as a 2023 model. Chevrolet’s teaser campaign says the C8 Z06 will debut this fall.  It will likely be sold as a 2023 model-year vehicle. Chevrolet has since announced the reveal date. Their membership covers and represents Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama. The chapter every year organizes three judging events in the following regions: Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Summerville, Georgia, and Atlanta, Georgia. Today on the Vette Vues blog we are looking at the Syracuse Corvette Club and their All Corvette show which has since they started donated over $300,000 to local charities. “Vettes At the Beach” is a 100% charitable event. The event is a “rain or shine” and is one of the largest single-day Corvette shows in the Northeast and the largest seasonal events in Sylvan Beach, New York each year. The show has grown to host as many as 500 Corvettes onsite and draws hundreds more Corvette enthusiasts, coming from all over the United States and Canada. At the 2010 census, the population of Sylvan Beach was 897. It looks to me like the Corvettes might have taken over the town. James Ennis, the Syracuse Corvette Club president, tells Vette…
