CORVETTE RACING AT LIME ROCK: Second Place for Garcia, Magnussen Hard-charging effort pays off with another podium finish LAKEVILLE, Conn. (July 6, 2013) – Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen stood on the podium at Lime Rock Park for the second straight season with a runner-up finish Saturday in the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix. The No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R ran a nearly flawless race to lead Corvette Racing’s effort in the fourth round of the American Le Mans Series.   The result, which played out for a live television audience on ESPN2, moved Garcia and Magnussen from fifth in the ALMS’ GT driver’s championship into a provisional three-way tie for second.   Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin finished sixth in a trying race. Corvette Racing Wins Long Beach ALMS Gavin and Magnussen Score GT Victory on Streets of Long Beach; Magnussen and Garcia Finish Fourth in Battered Corvette LONG BEACH, Calif., April 14, 2012 – Corvette Racing drivers Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin won a hard-fought battle in the streets of Long Beach today, claiming a GT class victory in the second round of the American Le Mans Series. The pair completed 84 laps on the 1.968-mile temporary circuit in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R, finishing 4.26 seconds ahead of the runner-up No. 56 BMW. Here is a fine example of a 1968 Corvette. It is the James Garner's American International Racing Team 1968 AIR L88 Corvette and was owned by Bob Radke. Vette Vues Magazine took the photo at the 2009 NCRS National Convention in San Jose. It is restored and received the American Heritage Award. This appeared in the October 2009 issue of Vette Vues Magazine. Here is a great historical photo of the James Garner Corvettes in Dick Goldstrand's shop. You see the James Garner's Corvette in the Guldstrand R&D shop in preparation for the 1968 Daytona 24 hour race.
