Sting Ray vs. Stingray
The 1963 C2 Corvette was introduced as the Sting Ray two words, not one. The 1968 C3 bore no Sting Ray OR Stingray emblem. But, in 1969, Corvettes once again bore the emblem and was rebranded to Stingray, the single word we know today.

The midyear Corvette—also is also known as the C2— was produced for five model years (1963 through 1967).
