Lawrence Kiyoshi (Larry) Shinoda (March 25, 1930 – November 13, 1997) was a legendary American automotive designer who was best known for his work on the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang. Larry Shinoda was a designer who worked for General Motors Styling from 1956 to 1968. Perhaps his most was his working on the final design for the 1963 split-window Sting Ray. He Shinoda was born on March 25, 1930, in Los Angeles, California. He grew up in Southern California and his artistic talents showed up while he was still in grade school. Chevrolet will be offering 1,000 special edition Corvettes, the 2022 Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM Championship Edition.  The reveal came Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park, the site of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix in Detroit, Michigan to be held June 11-13. 2021.  Below is the press release and video from Chevrolet Communications. The 2022 IMSA GTLM Championship Edition Corvette is based on the 3LT trim with the Z51 Performance Package. The package adds $6,595 to this model for a net price of $87,085 for the coupe and $94,085 for the convertible. We are also taking a look at the history of the Callaway Speedster and have a walkaround video for you to enjoy. The one-and-only, record-setting 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer was up for auction recently on Bring-a-Trailer. The auction ended and on May 23, 2021, with a high bid of $500,000, but it did not meet the reserve. In researching past auctions, we learned that in 2004 at the Scottsdale Barret-Jackson auction, it sold at no reserve for $225,500.00. The commercial shows that there's a Chevrolet for anyone who likes to drive!
