We have been reading about the ZO6 Chevrolet Corvette for a while now. Well, Chevrolet has just released a teaser video that shows a camouflaged prototype with a big wing testing on various racetracks in Europe and the debut date.
The teaser video opens with a notice to “save the date” before cutting to pre-production, camouflaged C8 Corvette Z06 driving past the Nürburgring.
In the end, the video warns that “the streets will never look the same,” and we are given the date of October 26th, 2021, as the official Z06 reveal date. Could this mean production happens sooner than we think?
From everything we read, it is expected that the Z06 Corvette engine will be the same as the race version of the mid-engine C8 Corvette, which has a 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V-8. The new ZO6 production model is expected to make upwards of 600 horsepower and to use a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
A few months ago, Chevrolet released another tease of the new Z06 when they released an audio file of the supercar’s exhaust sound. LISTEN HERE
