Eight (8) Corvettes in top 10 at the Dick Mooney Memorial race for Group 6 at the Watkins Glen US Vintage Grand Prix

# 59
Peter Klutt, # 11 Edward Sevadjian and # 969 Michael Origer were 1-2-3 in 6AP.
The top 6 Corvettes started farther back because Peter Klutt led them adrift via an off-course excursion on the pace lap of the qualifying race.
They moved up quickly so Dick Mooney must be smiling from above and wife Pam relieved.
# 33 Mike
Donohue, # 42 Rick Mooney, # 37 Clair Schwendeman in small blocks finished
5-6-7. (Stewart Black’s crew had a spare
tranny on hand for repairs).
Back to
Group 6, # 59 Bernie Chodosh overcooked it trying to pass Gary Moore’s fast
Mustang GT350 and crashed out in turn 1.
Re-appearing
after a spell were # 28 Chris Fennell, # 65 Brian Cooper, # 33 Bob Lima.
Back to
Group 10, # 38 John Wolff in Dan Furey’s ex C5 GT1 and # 33 Joe Moholland GT2.
Footnote: Pre-race engine problems resulted in a DNS for
# 46 Jody O’Donnell, robbing the Dick Mooney Memorial race of “what could have
been.”
