Mecum Auctions Now Offers Enclosed Auto Transport Services. Mecum Auto Transport on April 1, 2017, taking the experience, and your car, from the auction floor to your garage door.
WALWORTH, Wis. – June 12, 2017 – Mecum Auctions, the world’s largest collector-car auction company, is now offering enclosed auto transport services. The 30-year-old auction house has built its reputation and business by providing customers, both buyers and sellers, with the best service, results and overall encounter from start to finish. With constant efforts made to improve the “Mecum Experience” and ensure it’s the best it can be, the company launched Mecum Auction Auto Transport Services on April 1, 2017, taking the experience, and your car, from the auction floor to your garage door.
Mecum has always prided itself on the ability to offer a one-stop-shop for buying or selling collector vehicles. Now, with the launching of Mecum Auto Transport’s enclosed auto transport services, even vehicle delivery can be a part of the Mecum Experience, whether that is to or from the auction.
“The driver of your enclosed auto transport truck is often one of the first people you meet face-to-face when you consign a car for auction,” says Mike Baker, head of the Mecum Auto Transport division. “We want that first person to be a Mecum person. It’s important to us that your Mecum experience is a positive one. We’re confident that by being your first point of contact and following through all the way till the end, a positive experience is what you’ll have.”
Mecum Auction Auto Transport Services Division
The Mecum Auction Auto Transport Services division has already undertaken the enclosed transportation of several notable collections with great results, including vehicles from late Chevrolet Dealer Bob McDorman. The company has also successfully transported more than a thousand individual vehicles to and from its most recent auctions held throughout the United States. Combining the latest technology with the most thorough care for the cars is a big portion of Mecum’s recipe for success.
“We’re giving enclosed auto transport customers the peace of mind of knowing where their car is with GPS tracking on all of our trucks,” says Baker. “And our drivers have all been thoroughly vetted, hand-selected and fully trained to know how to treat these cars. Mecum has been in the collector-car business for 30 years; we’re just as passionate about these vehicles as any collector, so customers can rest assured that their cars are in good hands when they’re with us.”
Mecum Auction Auto Transport Services Special Care
In addition to the ability to track the enclosed auto transport trucks via GPS, Mecum takes the utmost care to keep each vehicle safe for its entire trip. Mecum drivers document and photograph each vehicle prior to loading it on the enclosed transport truck, and an email of the entire process is sent to the owner. Each vehicle is wiped down with an appropriate 303® detailer, and the antenna is placed back on upon delivery. Vehicles on the bottom rack of the enclosed transport trucks are covered with plastic, as is the driver’s-side seat and floor of all vehicles. Furthermore, Mecum strives to make the entire process a simple and seamless affair—consignors are able to book their vehicles for auction and arrange shipping in one phone call, and a buyer can schedule a purchase’s ride home right from the auction.
