We hope you enjoy looking back at the NCRS Winter Regional Meet 2018. Here is the event coverage that appeared in April 2018 issue of Vette Vues Magazine. Photographer: Ed Nieves.
For the past 40 years, the NCRS Florida Chapter has held the society’s first show of the year. The Florida weather has always been a big draw.
The NCRS Winter Regional Meet has had many homes since 1978. You might have heard people talk about the Cypress Garden’s Show or NCRS Old Town Corvette show, which were some of the popular locations in the past.
The Lakeland, Florida, Sun N Fun facility, is the current venue for the NCRS Winter Regional Meet. Unfortunately, this location has not been popular, perhaps because it is so far from the Orland attractions.
Vette Vues is told that the NCRS board has decided that the 2019 Winter Regional can be held one more year at the current location and then it must find another venue that would be more acceptable to out of state spectators and participants for the 2020 event.
One of the purposes of the NCRS Winter Regional is the certification for members. Approximately fifty cars were judged at the January event that was held the 10th through 13th.
Ed Nieves tell us “They came from Florida and other neighboring states . . . we have a Sportsman Display from New Mexico.”
In addition to the judging, this show has always had a large number of vendors and as we understand it, this year was no exception.
