Obituary for Wallace Noland Adams

Wallace “Noland” Adams, age 84, passed away at home on his birthday, Jan. 18, 2017. He was born in 1933 in French Camp, Calif., to Lester and Eula Maye (Blackerby) Adams. He was a Korean War veteran.

Noland loved his wife, Mary, almost as much as his Corvettes. He was a renowned Corvette expert, historian, and author. He was inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame in 2003. He was also known for his great sense of humor.

Noland was loved by everyone and adored by his family. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Kimberly Adams, Martin Adams, Elaine Knecht, John (Debbie) Phillips, and Lorraine (Kelly) Gastaldi; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren (with more to come). He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd “Lane” Adams.

Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at LDS Church, 1275 Green Valley Road in El Dorado Hills, Calif. A viewing will be at 11 a.m., with service to follow at 12 p.m. For additional information, go to In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Noland’s name to

Noland Adams was the president of the Solid Axle Corvette Club for over 45 years.  Noland Adams, known as a Corvette historian, wrote several technical books –

Other notable things about Noland:
Noland Adam’s 1953 Corvette owns the very car from the US Postal Services Postage “Sporty Car” Stamp Series.

Noland was one of the earliest members of the National Corvette Restorers Society. He wrote numerous articles for the Corvette Restorer publication.

In 2003 Noland was inducted into the NCM’s Corvette Hall of Fame.

In 2010 Bloomington Gold Noland Adams was inducted into The Bloomington Gold Great Hall.

The Chevy/Vettefest Triple Crown Award was developed by Chevy/Vettefest Nationals directors and Gold Spinner Concours President Noland Adams as a way to honor those Corvettes that have achieved the most prominent awards.
