Emerald Green 1966 Corvette owned by Allen Fortner
Our first Corvette we are looking at is Crafted by Ryan’s Rod & Custom; this Emerald Green 1966 Corvette coupe of Allen Fortner displays classic body styling with an injection of modern-day power. Underneath the surface, one will find many clever alterations, including custom hood vents and extra taillights.
Ryan’s team tackled the work before spraying the vehicle with a custom-mixed Axalta Emerald Green. Chuck Hannah Interiors crafted the upholstery to add a touch of elegance to the C2. An Inglese-injected LS3 powered by a SuperMatic 4L70E automatic transmission was chosen for the drivetrain, and Allen wished to take the ‘Vette to the next level by selecting Ridetech’s 1963-1979 C2/C3 coil-over system with StrongArms. Mike Curtis of Curtis Speed supplied the race-inspired wheels.

1959 Corvette owned by Don Nickleson
Don Nickleson proudly displays his 1959 Corvette, modified by Darren Nickleson of Indy Street Rods & Classics in Fairland, Indiana, in the Builder’s Showcase.
Don’s brother Darren, who owns the Indy Street Rods and Classics, made a striking street machine out of a former drag car that had been worn out – the 1959 Corvette. To do this, they utilized a new chassis from SRIII Motorsports with C4 suspensions with air springs, and Wilwood disc brakes. Goodyear tires on 19- and 20-inch Forgeline wheels had the car rolling, and 650hp from a Chevrolet LT4 crate engine coupled with a Tremec T56 six-speed ensured it had enough power.
The Indy Street Rods team worked tirelessly to repair the fiberglass body of the vehicle, altering the wheel openings, widening the rear quarter panels, tucking the bumpers, and fabricating new trim pieces to finish it off. After all of the modifications, they applied a custom-mixed Axalta paint in red. On the inside, Steve Holcomb reshaped the seats and used black leather and grey trim to cover the surfaces. Comfort amenities such as an Ididit column, Vintage Air, Classic Instruments, and a Blaupunkt stereo were also added.
