Vette Vues Magazine’s September Issue is Out – Issue Preview
Vette Vues Magazine September Issue presents GT3.R, the first Chevrolet-produced car for both professional and amateur racers.
In this blog post, we will take a quick look at what you can expect in your latest Corvette magazine issue, dedicated to Corvette Enthusiasts for over 50 years!
Corvette History
This month, we have two great historical articles, the first being coverage of the 2022 Eyes on Design event – Design for Speed with some awesome cars. This is part one of a two-part series you won’t want to miss.
The next thing we are looking at is the history of the 1968 Yenko Sunray DX2 L88 Racer with lots of great photos. Kevin Mackay and his team at Corvette Repair, Inc, in Valley Stream, New York, restored the famous Corvette racer that has received the coveted NCRS American Heritage Award.
Cover Car
Check out the history of our cover car, the 1954 Chevrolet Corvette EX-87 “Duntov Mule,” which is part of the Lingenfelter Collection. It is considered the world’s first V8-powered Corvette. The test mule was driven to 163 mph by Smokey Yunick at the GM Arizona Proving Grounds in 1955, thanks to numerous body modifications.
Corvette Events
This month, we have three Corvette events that we will be covering:
1.) Bloomington Gold – Back to Bloomington
2.) 2022 National Convention – National Council of Corvette Clubs
3.) Vettes at One Daytona 2022 Car Show
Our coverage of the Bloomington Gold Show is an introduction to this year’s event. Over the next few months, we will talk about some of the cars in the Special Collection.
Corvette Features
A visit to the Larry Lipsitz Classic Performance Corvette Collection will feature several undamaged old-school performance Corvettes. Scotty Teeters discusses the history of the fuel-injected 1957 Corvette. Larry’s has only 33,000 original miles on it.
Corvette Racing
In the September issue of Vette Vues Magazine, in our Keepin’ Track of Corvette Racing column Jan Hyde features articles about four big races of the season:
A.) Corvette Finishes Last in Class at Watkins Glen 6-hour Enduro
B.) Corvette Racing Team Seizes 2nd Place at Mosport CANADA
C.) Trans Am Corvettes Outclassed at Mid-Ohio
D.) Corvette Loses Hood…and Race at Road America
