As we look at the 1979 and 1980 Corvette Ads and Trivia we remember that there was the worst commercial nuclear power plant accident in United States history. It unfolded on Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania near Harrisburg, about 35 miles east of the Carlisle Fairgrounds.   The reason I mention the Carlisle Fairgrounds is that the world's largest Corvette show takes place there once a year, Corvette’s at Carlisle, in August. George Talley was reunited with his prized '79 Chevrolet Corvette at General Motor's world headquarters, just three miles from where the car was stolen from him 33 years ago. Detroit Man Reunited With Stolen Corvette After 33 Years George Talley is reunited with his 1979 Chevrolet Corvette Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the General Motors World Headquarters – 33 years after it was stolen on Jefferson Avenue, just three miles away – in Detroit, Michigan. Talley received a call from AAA informing him his car turned up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
