The 1994 Corvette was born during an era when cars were moving away from muscle cars and toward fuel efficiency. In 1994, GM made available a 350 cubic-inch engine that offered 300 horsepower. The electronically controlled 4-speed automatic transmission was also included. Also included was a removable body-colored roof panel on the coupe or a soft top on the convertible. Today on our Vette Vues blog post, we are looking at the 1991 Corvette Callaway Speedster Brochure. We are also taking a look at the history of the Callaway Speedster and have a walkaround video for you to enjoy. The one-and-only, record-setting 1988 Callaway Sledgehammer was up for auction recently on Bring-a-Trailer. The auction ended on May 23, 2021, with a high bid of $500,000, but it did not meet the reserve. In researching past auctions, we learned that in 2004 at the Scottsdale Barret-Jackson auction, it sold at no reserve for $225,500.00. In 2014 at the Mecum Kissimmee auction, the high bid was $600,000, and did not sell. Its estimated value at that time was $750,000 to $1,000,000. We will keep you posted in the future as to where…

Today on our blog we are looking at the 1996 C4 Chevrolet Corvette Brochure. The Model year 1996 was the final year of the C4 Corvette that was produced from 1983 to 1996. The Grand Sport was a limited-edition model with a total production output of just 1,000 units—810 coupes and 190 convertibles. The Grand Sport paid homage to the legendary competition Corvette of the same name that was raced in the 1963 season with drivers Jim Hall, Roger Penske, Augie Pabst, and Dick Thompson. The 1996 Grand Sport—RPO Z16—was visually identifiable by its exclusive paint livery in Admiral Blue with white stripes and bright red hashes across the left front fender. A few quick facts about the 1995 Corvette Total Production = 20,742: 15,771 Coupe, 4,971 Convertible The ZR-1's larger brakes were made standard for all models. On January 3 Chevrolet announces that the Corvette has been chosen as the official pace car of the Indianapolis 500 race. Chevrolet announces to its dealers that 522 pace car replicas would be produced, with 415 available for dealer sales. On April 28, 1995 The last ZR-1 Corvette, painted Torch Red, rolls off the assembly line. During its six-year lifetime, 6939 ZR-1 Corvettes were built.
