VETTE VUES MAGAZINE TRI-POWER ® AWARD
If you have ever purchased a new car, you will remember the fresh aroma. However, did you know that there are Corvettes that are sixty years old that still look and smell as they did when they came off the dealership floor?
In most cases, these cars were not put in a vacuum tomb, but the owner has made the commitment to restore their car to its original glory days.
For the new/used Corvette owner who wants his car to return to its initial state, their first step is usually to join NCRS. They start going to meets, reading books and learning all they can about Corvette and what it looked like when it came off the production line. Then, they get to work.
Once they have achieved their goal, they go for the judging. Perhaps, after a couple of tries, they received their N.C.R.S. Top Flight Award®. Usually, the next goal is to go for a Bloomington Gold Certified status.
For years, the Chevy Vettefest Triple Crown Award was the next ultimate goal of a Corvette owner who achieved this paramount level of originality and condition. However, this is no longer available.
Since them, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals came out with the Triple Diamond Award which is offered once a year in Rosemont (Chicago area), Illinois.
In 2013, Vette Vues Magazine introduced the Tri-Power Award ® providing yet another opportunity for this elite group of Corvettes. The Tri-Power Award is available at the Corvette Chevy Expo in Galveston, Texas once a year. Vette Vues Magazine, Inc. Tri-Power ® Award honors the Corvette owner that has achieved the highest degree of originality, condition, and attention to detail.
Once an owner is awarded the Tri-Power Award, these esteemed Corvettes are inducted into the Tri-Power Registry and given a numbered certificate with their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) prominently displayed. They also are presented a 9×12 commemorative plaque.
So how do you get a Tri-Power Award?
For A Corvette owner wanting to apply for the Tri-Power ® Award, their vehicle must first have met vigorous judging standards at other national events. Applicants must have achieved the NCRS Top Flight ® or NCRS 4 or 5 Star Bowtie® as well as the Bloomington Gold Certification® or Bloomington Survivor® status before applying and must provide proof of these achievements to be considered.
Then, just fill out the form and send a copy of your previous awards. The judging is done once a year at the Corvette Chevy Expo held at the Galveston Island Convention Center on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas.
